See the results from the latest Barons auction

Barons’ latest ‘British Heritage – Classic and sports Car’ auction at Sandowne park had all the hallmarks of a great sale. From Bentleys and BMWs to Jags and Jensens it really was a treat to have all of this classic metal in one place.

Fortunately the majority of cars were treated to new homes with a good sell through rate. We’ve lined up some of our favourite sales from the day for you below, but also some of the gems that didn’t sell and that you can still pick up if you’re quick!

1957 Mercedes 190 Ponton

This is an original British delivered 1957 Mercedes Ponton 190. The vendor says that it is in great condition and does not suffer from any rust issues. It has been repainted in its original black, and has new red upholstery. The car has apparently never had any rust, because it has had very little use. The car is a barn find discovery in outstanding order, and has just been refurbished and MoT’d, and sold for £8,800.

1987 Land Rover Range Rover

The vendor assures Barons that this Range Rover is ‘in amazing un-restored condition’ (take that as you will). There are lots of invoices and 15 old MOTs and It has only had 5 previous owners in its life, and unusually 4 keys. These 30 year old Range Rovers are now becoming classics, and we’ve written about them – click HERE to see our take on classic Range Rover prices and where the car is headed.

This particular vehicle sold for £4,620

1988 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible

An absolute gem of a car and the current pick to be the next classic car to shoot up in value. Don’t believe us? Check out our article HERE and the graph below to see how this Jag shapes up to the competition.

The example offered here with an odometer reading of c. 53,000 is described by the vendor to be in very good condition, and is accompanied by supporting MOT’s, and a current MOT until May 2018. The interior has recently been re-connolised and the body shows no signs of rusting. The car comes with custom over mats, the hood has no tears and is fully operational. Not a bad deal, then, as this XJS sold for £12,650.
